Local Cycling Club Continues to Support NASHI
The Buena Vista Cycling Club will be holding its 6th Annual Bike-A-Thon on Saturday, June 19th
The adventure begins with an approximate 17 km ride from the start location to the beautiful Beaver Creek Conservation Area. It is the microcosm of the Meewasin Valley, and contains one of the few uncultivated short grass prairie sites in Saskatchewan. We will stop for a snack and enjoy a leisurely ride back. There will be a BBQ for all riders after the bike-a-thon at the Start Location.
All proceeds from the BVCC Bike-A-Thon will be shared with the Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-op, a groundbreaking progressive community-based organization that has successfully attracted youth from the core neighborhood to participate in their very own worker co-operative, and NASHI.

Victor Malarek Headlines NASHI’s Human Trafficking Conference
NASHI hosted the 2009 Human Trafficking Conference and Banquet in Saskatoon on October 17. A capacity crowd participated in presentations by the Saskatoon City Police and local social justice groups followed by round table discussions and action plans.
The evening banquet featured a “no holds barred” expose of the root cause of Human Trafficking by CTV investigative journalist and author Victor Malarek.
Using research from his latest book “The Johns: Sex For Sale And The Men Who Buy It”, Victor told it as it is to a sold out audience.
At 5:00 A.M. the morning after the conference, 7 NASHI volunteers piled Mr. Malarek and some coffee into their cars and headed for Edmonton to attend a noon luncheon. Victor presented his powerful message to another sell out crowd for the Maple Leaf Project, which supports NASHI’s Safe House.
